Hi All,
I moved house last Thursday and the two weeks prior had been none stop packing, and had notice my feet were getting puffy, after we moved in Thurday night my feet, ankles and legs upto and including me knees were severely swollen and so painful and I was shivering, Friday was unpacking then friday evening the swelling was even worse and I was crying with the pain and shivering my daughter to me to the out of hours GP and he said I had a slight temperature, high blood pressure (despite taking my two regular daily blood pressure meds) heart and pulse was racing, they did and ECG which should my heart was slightly fast but nothing serious and was probably due to all the inflamation, but as he did not know my history he sent me to the Acute Admissions Unit at the local hospital when I got there it was packed, we asked how long until I would be seen and they said could be hours as they needed a bed for me as they have to admit, do tests, diagnose then either send you to a ward or home with correct treatment, this was 9.30pm by then and I just needed sleep, so I asked if I could just go home and rest, well the sister call me and my husband through looked at my legs, went and spoke to the consultant, and said to us we can wait but it will be hours, or I could go home, bed rest with my feet elevated, take diclofenac and register to see a GP, they felt they agreed with the GP who sent me there that it was Polymylagia. I have rested in bed but as soon as I get up it all swells up again, it doesn't go completely when I rest them but I would say decreases by half, but my bones and muscles are excrutiatingly painful, my chest, shoulders, back, neck and arms all hurt and I feel generally unwell and exhausted, has anyone else suffered with these symptoms or has any advice, I am going to register with a GP tomorrow, thank you, I must say I am never moving again
