Help!

I know a lot of fibro mites have other issues so I'm going to post this here and hope that someone will read it and know what I'm describing.

For a few weeks now I've been experiencing severe cramping and flank pain. It feels like menstrual cramping but I haven't had a cycle since October 1. Not pregnant. Also have lots of bloating and I seem to swing between constipation or constant trips to the bathroom. I need pee constantly, but ive been drinking lots of water. I have tried miralax, midol (whatever the extra strength is called), and Tylenol.

I did go to the Er and they ran a few tests, they didn't tell me specifically which ones. They found blood in my urine so they did a ct. The ct looked normal so they sent me home.

I just have no idea where to go with this. My pcp is not always very helpful, but I have no idea which of my specialists I take this to. It scares me because the genetic condition I have can cause renal failure. The dr at the er said my creatinine was ok, but there's other things to watch for with my kidneys. Any help would be so helpful.

I have had a kidney infection before and the symptoms you describe were similar to mine. It got so bad that I couldn't even lay on the left side where it hurt the most. I am with couchtater I would see a spechialist as soon as you can. I hope they can figure out what is going on and that you feel better soon!

Creatinine is a measurement of inflamation.
But you can still have a kidney infection without the creatinine rising over the limit. You can be a high normal level and still have infection.

Did they do a full urinalysis or a dipstick? Dipstick is just a basic screening. Full urinalysis will find infection even if it's hiding.

Angelic victory- it sounds like they ran a urine analysis already. This would show if you had a kidney infection. Creatinine is part of the urine test. The reason he did the CT was to rule out kiney stones. Sometimes having blood in your urine can be kidney stones and the pain you were describing. Having a normal CT doesn't always rule out kidney stones or kidney problems. A lot of times bowel problems go hand in hand with kidney problems. I don't think your going to get the answer you need at urgent care. ER would of told you if you had infection. If you can wait till Monday and your symptoms are still there then I would go see a kidney specialist. I always have 1 plus blood in my urine. I have had kidney stones a few times. If you do have a history in your family that is another good reason to follow up. I hope things settle down for you.

My mom has diverticulosis spells. It can get pretty painful. They will probably give you antibiotics.

Mom always says it hurts more than childbirth. LOL!

Angelic- make sure your gastro Dr's has acess to all the test you had done. Look at it this way, at least some diagnoses were eliminated. Lol I hope you can get some rest.
