Hello!
I have been bitten by the baby bug and am unsure about how it will affect my fibro. I'm 26 with a very understanding hubby, but I don't want us to give up on having children due to my condition. I have looked high and low on the internet and there's not a lot out there. I haven't every really exercised. My diet sucks. I tried to start exercising at the beginning of November, but turkey day derailed me, then my monthly and after that things got very busy and stressful at work so I started to have sleeping troubles. I also became great at giving excuses to not exercise. ;) I will get better at because I am motivated to be strong for myself and for having a baby, but I am worried about being too weak to carry a baby. This started my mind wondering.
So here are a few questions I have about pregnancy and fibro:
1. What can I eat that will not hurt my fibro, but nourish the baby? I've read milk is not that great for fibro, but great for baby.
2. How the heck do you have sex daily when you sore after once or twice? pillows are cumbersome and not really sexy.
3. Mayo says to follow your calendar, track your basal body temp, eat healthy, and how the heck do you tell your boss, "I need you to turn around real quick, boss. I just gotta..." *bends wife over*
This sounds like building a NASA rocket with playskool toy tools. I just wish there was a fibro/pregnancy bible out there for those who want to get pregnant and have the inspiration along the way that makes it a wonderful experience. I see the woman out there that weren't like Kendra Wilkinson ripped and had a baby and could bounce back and look amazing. I know what some would say, but she is a real human being with only slightly enhanced abilities to get back in shape. I've seen some woman with huge bellies that are severely sagging due to the weight of one baby. I already have lower back issues due to not having like any stomach muscle strength. I use my back as my core balance instead of my stomach. So because I'm already worried I don't eat that healthy, that I have weak abs and have very limited resources to draw from to accomplish my goal of getting pregnant next fall I feel like having babies is for "normal" woman. So if you have tips about working out that's between physical therapy and P90X, then recipes on eating healthy I would greatly appreciate it. I don't want more pain than I can avoid. Also I am keeping an ear to the ground about finding a general fibro doctor who can help too. I also work in a call center setting at a warehouse so not a lot of space to walk or weight lift and our neighbors there are dicks.
Sincerely,
a hopeful would-be mommy
