Hi, Candlelady and Sufferfromfibroandosteo, and welcome! Yes, this is a wonderful forum with wonderful members who love to help one another. And, as a bonus, we really do care about each other too.
I've had fibro for decades and have learned how to live a full and enjoyable life in spite of this illness. You do have to try things to see what works for you. What works for one may not work for another so it's a trial and error thing.
For me, I didn't want to take all the fibro drugs so I found other things to help me. I also have a form of RA so I take ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium supplements, vitamin D3 supplements and a prescription muscle relaxer called Robaxin. I also do daily stretching exercises, walk daily as a form of gentle exercise (swimming and yoga are good, too) and I pace myself when doing things. I do get a gentle massage once a month, also. All this combined have helped me with fibro.
I also am a positive thinker and that has helped me nearly as much as the medication and supplements. There is a good link in Fibro 101 about maintaining a positive attitude. I have read that many times.
Be sure to read Fibro 101... the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links are called Symptoms and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there.
I'm looking forward to getting to know both of you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
