Where You Live & Fibro ???

I have had minor fibro for years – last July it went full force. We live in the cold and wet Washington State and this is my first winter with severe fibro.

When I go out the cold makes me almost crippled and my pain is about a 10 even in a warm house. I know arthritis is much better in warm dry climates but how is it with fibro.

Anyone moved to Arizona ???

I live in Arkansas and we've been having strange weather all winter. One day we will have a blizzard the next it's 50 degrees then its 30. All the back and forth has been miserable for my arthritis, fibromyalgia, and my migraines. I feel like if our weather would just level out I could adapt and be fine.

I also in live in Arkansas...5 miles from the Oklahoma border. Friday it was 72 degrees...today a high of 47. The winter temps here fluctuate like crazy and it can be pretty damp. Summer weather is hot with temps mostly in the 90's and low 100's. I love summer.

Just don't think there is a perfect place to live when you have fibro. I do think cold damp climates are the worst though. I'm originally from Wisconsin and I can no longer tolerate the winter weather there.

Personally I love subtropical and tropical weather the best. I'm not to crazy about Arizona's weather...the heat is so dry and you have to carry water where ever you go in the summer.

Planning on retiring to south Florida in 4 years...I love that climate!

I live in the mountains of north GA. This is the mildest winter we've had in ages. Winter averages 10-50, summer 70-110. But there is always a slight breeze.
When the rain comes in I hurt more than ever. I like tempertures of 55-70.

Depends on the person. When I lived in the snow belt off the Great Lakes, I learned I wasn't super fond of snow. But now, in the upper south, I am not fond of the heat.

Common denominator here- I don't like humidity. I prefer cooler temps to warmer zones. Two weeks this summer in New Mexico was torture.

I live in northern lower Michigan. It has been damp here and the weather has been crazy. It has been raining and icy. And snow, but a lot of it melted. My fibro has been the worse it has in a long time. And it wont let up. I can't wait for it to settle down so I can go outside. It is either too cold or raining. Hopefully soon we will have some good days. I hope that you all get to feeling better soon. I hope all of your weather straightens out as well as mine.

I live in Australia, I don't do well with extreme heat either. My conclusion is as long as our bodies is stressed fibro will come and makes everything worse.

I live in murrells inlet sc close to myrtle beach. I was diagnosed with fibro and ebsteen barr about 18 months ago.

The weather has been all over the place lately. The cold weather does bring out my pain, which is crazy because I find that I sleep better if my room is cold and I am snuggled up in my soft blankets.

I go from one extreem to another, I am either freezing or having major hot flashes, or my favorite is having a hot flash so bad that my hair is dripping wet from it and the rest of me is freezing all at the same time!

My family does not know what to expect when I touch the thermo in the house, lol

East Tennessee here. Our weather is always different. Today, it rained all day Sunday and it is listed as 100% expected for today. It is 3:43 am and still raining. That hurts me the most, damp cool weather.

Suffering from fibro: I could have written the post from you. It sounds exactly like me.

I have a fan beside my bed that i have to have on to sleep. It points to my feet till i wake up feeling hot then it points to my face. All of this whil I have 3 covers. I can not sleep under the same cover as dh, as he is always like a heater to me, But as soon as he gets up to leave for work, his cover is pulled on top of me. He has set a range that i can set the thermostat between because i always forget to change it back for him in the mornings. And he (he is in maintance with air conditioners, etc) it is not good on them to keep resetting.
