I was sitting in my bedroom tonight and I kept hearing a whining noise of a hurt animal outside my window.
Now being the animal lover I am I begin to fret over it's pitiful whines and sound of it struggling outside my house.
My mom listens to the sounds of it and tried to see it with a flashlight shining though the window. All the while clucking her tongue and say in babytalk, "Is there a hurt puppy out there?" She couldn't see anything so I put on my jacket and get a flashlight to go out to find this poor animal. As I'm going out the door my father says, "beware of the mean dogs down the street."
Bravely I go out with my mom telling me to bring it up on the porch out of the cold.
I go around the house to my side of it and start searching the area making kissing and clucking sounds to get it to come to me. There's nothing there. I search around and around the area looking for the whining puppy. Then I hear the sound loud and clear, but it's not coming from the ground. It's coming from above me?!
I look up at the sound and discover it's the edge of a branch scrubbing the corner of my tin roof! It sounded just like a puppy whining!
Needless to say I went back into the house laughing so hard my family thought I had finally going looney!
