hi im newly diagnosed as of last week and im curious if my seizures are triggered by the fibro or vise verse im confused by this since i have had seizures for over 10 years. they thought it was from a major car accident i had. my doc said a wreck like that can cause fibro. if anyone has any idea please let me know if u can or want i would appreciate it

I don't know if the seizures are connected with the fibro, but they could both be connected to the car accident. So though there might not be a connection with the two, there could certainly be a connection with the three.

Sleep is very important. Make sure you discuss this with your doctor. Your body can't fully heal unless you get deep sleep.
As time goes you will learn what works for you. It's a lot of trial and error. I hope your doctor is very supportive. People here are very helpful, too. They've made me a junky. I read the 101 when I can't sleep lol.

thank u doc only dxd me a few days ago which i guess would be last week now but he is going to contact me about meds and things being im also bipolar, have anxiety, and a bunch of other things which my doc is sure were misdiagnosis he took the time to tell me the 3 things he was looking at went through my chart compared them all and gave me a heads up and wanted me to check into all 3 myself so i wouldnt be shocked when one of them came back as the most likely cause. he is very good i never had a doc do that most of them would be like ok just take this med this med and that med. this doc took the time to dig deeper into it.

Welcome to the forum! I suffer from seizure and I have read fibro patients are prone to seizures. My neuro told me mine was caused by meds. I have been seizure free for a few years. I probably won't have another as long as I stay Way from certain meds.

thats great ak glad to hear u havent had any mine r few and far between mostly twitching or starring off into space thank u i will talk with my neurologist cuz now idk if its epilepsy or fibro causing them someone told me fibro seizures r a little different than epileptic ones maybe thats why my docs r having a hard time

I have a daughter who has seizures (Grand Mal type) so I know how scary they can be. I don't really have any more advice at this point, but I just want to welcome you too. I'm glad you have found a great doctor, one who actually cares, because that's so important!

Fiverof- I just wanted to say that fibro doesn't cause seizures. Fibro patients can be more senstive to them is what I read in the book. It could be from the meds that fibro patients take. We tend to take similiar meds such as antidepressents, pain meds and anxiety meds. These tend to have side effects which can be seizures. My seizures were caused by the meds.
