What are you doing to make yourself emotionally better today?

If I cannot change situations, I am not going to waste my energy whining about them! I just refuse to engage.

I am going to go to the quiet room in the library and catch up on my work. I am going to go to the pool and stretch my muscles. And I am going to eat a proper dinner on my night off rehearsal.
What are you doing today to make a difference?

Great thread :)

I'm calling some friends to set up a lunch date for later in the week. Then I'm going to see my hairdresser for a haircut, she also has fibro and we support eachother. While I'm out at the mall, I will get a walk in and see if I can find a good bargain!

Enjoy being a consumer! That's what I call it! it is so very nice to go shop and get pampered Some days!

Also, I discovered a massage school in the placewe are taking our beach week.

I ran my errands already so have reached my goals for today and that makes me smile. Now, I'm outside on the lanai enjoying the great weather we are having in Florida. It's sunny, about 75 degrees with a great breeze. I love the wind! I find that watching nature makes me so happy!

It's a whopping 4 degrees above zero here today, and I'm very thankful I can stay in the warm house! (Sherrine: I'll be right over, LOL!)

I'm working on some crafts and hope to sell them--sooner or later. Right now I'm doing some research for more ideas, and am enjoying it. Things may finally be falling into place, if I stay on track. The phone did interrupt me several times, but I'm still in the game.

I planted a few tomato seeds today in a paper cup and put it in my kitchen window. Now I have Spring fever. :)

And....I'm eating healthy and feel like I'm on a roll with that.

It's about 46 degrees here and that's more than cold enough for me. I almost took the trash out before I tripped over an imaginary rock. My knee has decided we will not be taking trash out now. Such a bossy knee.
I played with tape this morning. I had to make phone calls about insurance stuff and found myself making weird faces and then holding them in place with tape. My husband was a little shocked when he came in the living room. I don't do boredom very well.
Now my husband has run to the vet to pick up allergy medicine for one of our kitties. I am trying to convince him to bring me home another kitty but he says that 3 cats would make me a cat lady. I keep telling him that I'm training the kitties to act out Shakesperean plays but then he threatens to put me in a home. So, my positivity today is born from sheer oddness. Hey, it gets me through.

AV, I can just picture you playing with the tape and the look on your husband's face. ROFL!!!!!

I'm trying to distract myself by playing my hidden objects games and working on a paint by number picture. It's one of those advanced ones that involve mixing paint to get new colors. It has an adorable golden retriever puppy looking up forlorn at you.

Last night I cooked a delicious stir-fry for my family. Chicken breast, snow peas, sugar peas, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, and baby corn....yummy! I don't cook that often so it was a special treat for them.

Its about 32C (90F) in Melbourne and I have been feeling the effects of a string of 30C+ days but today I felt like I achieved a lot at work. I have also been redoing my fish tank, swapping from tropical fish to Cichlids, and today I made it to the local aquarium for a water test and window shopping so when I came home I did the final clean and I an ready to buy my new fish on the weekend, I am very excited.
At the moment we have a number of summer storm rolling through so I am surrounded by the cat and dogs who all need "protection" from the thunder...... its nice to be loved :)
.......oh and I forgot to add...... I have weaned myself off my anti inflammatory meds, its been 6 weeks and I am still going strong..... woohoo......

I've colored my hair for years. My natural color is coming in snow white around my temples. To make everything blend in, I use the extra bleach blonde color. The store was out of my color, so I decided to go with a new color...absolute platinum. I'm using positive thinking that I don't look like  a 60 year old bimbo blonde. My hair is a tousled boy cut, I kind of look like a hot mess David Bowie...and that is thinking positive. turn   smilewinkgrin yeah

Hot mess David Bowie. -giggle- come cook for me, CT.

After yesterday's extreme day, I slept hard. Feel much better, after eleven hours and a full hydrocodone. Super sunny, but chilly. The plans for the day are to do some prop and costume shopping, hit the pool, and then rehearsal.

My little furry friend Black-and -white just wandered by. I rent a townhouse in a lower-middle class area. I animal watch out my backdoor, since I no longer have an animal taking care of me. I Feed my birds, my squirrel, who is the son of Rogue, named RogueJunior, and watch the neighborhood cats. Black and White is the true stray, with no home. He is a real personality. Once a month, I put out food for him. Sometimes buff and tan gets it, but buff has a home and I try to discourage him.

I'm at the eye doctor. Time for my glaucoma check. I know, I just lead the life of a rockstar.
I am trying very hard to convince my husband that we should adopt another stray kitty. I'd love to have another kitty in the house, I love watching my kitties interact and a third would just be great.
I also looked into becoming a foster parent. That's always been something I've felt very strongly about. I'm just afraid we don't have the space right now. It's already a bit cramped with the 4 of us. So now I'm trying to convince the hubby that we need a bigger home. Id love to be able to do this. I think it would teach my family a lot as well as give a child a home.

Thanks for reminding me about the eye doctor. Need to do that, once I get caught up on other bills. Need to find a new dentist, too. I cannot handle the one I have.... Thye are not as good with chronic pain and dental phobia as they thought they were. The scolding I got at my last cleaning was as far as I could go, coming as it did a few weeks aftermy sister's death and during a flare.

Having something totake care of is a very helpful thing, IMO, whether it be human or animal. It helps to take our mind off the other stuff. I miss my fur little ones. All those reading, scratch the little ones for me!

I hope you are able to get another kitty.

I am a dog person, but if a stray cat were to come around, I wouldnt mind. I have cotton tail rabbits that are a problem, the cat would keep them away.
