Fibromyalgia is officially an Immune System Dysregulation Disease and has a blood test that looks for bio-markers that show an altered immunology.

IDID or Inflammatory Diseases of Immune Dysregulation (Immune Mediated inflammatory Disease) is any of a group of conditions that:

^Share common inflammatory pathways
^May have unknown definitive etiologies
^Are a dysregulation of the immune response leading to inflammation
^Can cause organ damage, increased morbidity or mortality

The Study of inflammation offers a wealth of opportunities for impacting biomedical research and health care because inflammation mediates and is the primary driver of many diseases, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, arthritis, autoimmune diseases and allergy, as well as many of the cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and infectious diseases.

I.D.I.D. is characterized by immune disregulation that results in acute or chronic inflammation, causing organ damage and increased morbidity and mortality. One underlying manifestation of this immune disregulation is the inappropriate activation of in-flammatory cytokines, such as IL 12, IL 6 or TNFa, whose actions lead to pathological consequences.

I'm not an expert in immune system, so bare with me if it's a stupid question.

So my fibro is caused by my robust immune system?

I have hashimoto, so fibro is linked?

Well, this is an interesting possibility. At this point I don't buy it, but - -

For one thing, I'm surprised it isn't flooding the internet if it's got real credibility. Time will tell...thanks for posting this.

Fibro is not an immune disease.
What it is is where the nerves have gone haywire in our bodies and interpet the signals we receive wrong.
Picture your nerves as a phone system. A proper phone system will receive your voice and send it over the wires to the listener (brain). The listener understands the message and does the right response. (ie: gentle touch of a hand-you smile)
With a fibromite something is wrong with the wires or the listener. The signal is scrambled. Doctors have no idea why.
(ie: gentle touch of a hand-you flinch with pain)

It's crazy but our wiring has gone scrambled and we're not getting the right signals anymore.

Exactly ! I'm not saying that Fibro doesn't have some effect / interaction with our immune systems, I just don't believe this is the primary cause of Fibro.
