The doctor told me, and I quote "Sorry, there's nothing more I can do... you'll have to live with it." At the back of my mind I really want to scream at him, it just felt as it he doesn't not understand the kind of suffering I've to go through everyday. And this is suppose to be one of the "best" pain specialist over here in Adelaide, South Australia. I hate him!

I'm going to ask my GP to get me a referal to see a Rheumy... Anyone know of one? I don't mind travelling a bit, but somewhere around the Eastern suburbs would be good. I live up in the hills... The weather is getting colder as well and it's definately not very pain friendly.

I hope you find a doctor. Sorry for your pain.

Sometimes we do have to "live with it". I know that isn't very comforting. But do your best to keep moving. I hope that you find a good rheumy.

There is live with it, and there's live with it with extreme pain. I can "live with it", but I can't live with it with extreme pain. He wants me to live with it with extreme pain. I can't do that.... I'd rather die than living with level 8 - 9 pain daily. It's not the kind of life I would enjoy living.

Did they offer any type of treatment? If not, sounds like you need a new Dr. Sorry your having to go through loops to get help. Try to do your homework on these Dr's before going. I am not sure if you have a choice in your country?

No the doctor said, sorry, there's nothing else he's willing to do. I told him I'm willing to redo treatment that has been previously done, although it didn't last as long as it should, I'd rather have that than not having anything at all. Sadly, he said no, it was a very disspointing visit, and he wants to see me again in 2 months... personally I don't know what's the point.

Unfortunately not much in Adelaide. There will be more in either Sydney or Melbourne.

Thanks you for listening. I just needed to rant!

I'm sorry. I just don't understand why the world seems to be moving in the direction of less pain relief, when you know they have the means to make it the other way around.

Hopefully, your pain level will drop a bit.

Ranting is not always a bad thing. Sometimes it really helps!

I think seeking out a Rheumy would be a great idea. When I was told I would have to go to pain management I found a neurologist to treat my fibromyalgia. He's a great doctor and truly is very interested in what I'm dealing with. Always remember, when one door closes another opens. Good luck!
