Yesterday afternoon, I was answering the phone in my hubby's office. (Right now he can't afford to have his secretary there all day.)
He was out, and I had just taken a call that I thought deserved his attention, so I decided to call him on his cell. Being the astute person I am, I thought it would be better not to tie up his office line.
So I whip out my cell and dial. Just then, his phone starts ringing. "Hello," I say - no one there. Ok. It happens. Try again - same thing. Boy, some people!! And why does my call to his cell stop every time I hang up the office phone? Vaguely sensing that the 2 events are somehow connected, I try again: "hello!" By now, I'm muttering under my breath. Actually, I think this may have happened 4 times. Suddenly it comes to me, and I realize: It finally happened, I've turned into Lucy!!! I just sat there and chuckled for about
a minute.
One of the real secretaries, in the next office, was commenting back and forth with me while this was happening...so I'm afraid the secret is probably out. That's ok, I've always said office work is something I'm not organized enough for. I think I'll stick to substitute teaching, where chaos reigns. I can do chaos!!
