As many of you know, I quit my university job a few months ago, for many and varied reasons. I get paid and have benefits through the end of August.
Today I applied for three jobs! One state and two not-for-profit jobs. Tomorrow, more of the same. I went to a federal job search seminar last week, which was very helpful in pointers to create a resume and how to search on-line sites. As odd as it sounds, I never have had a resume, just an academic curriculum vitae. I wrote my resume last week, and have started sending out applications. Luckily, I live now in DC metro area and there are lots of possibilities, if you don't mind commuting.
I am proud of this because I am feeling more anxious and worried about
finding a job, especially one outside of my area of training. It would be so much easier to curl up and ignore this, and avoid the problem, and just let time take its course.
