Does anyone get lightheadedness, sometimes when driving?

This was my first symptom, and I have had this for 2 years or so now...Sometimes its worse than others, sometimes I can't even drive its so bad.

I have been to doctor about it many times in the past, she thought it was vertigo and tried some tabs on me, but it didn't help...since the fibro has come on its worse

Is there anything to help this or does anyone else have any tips for this? I will mention it to neuro in August

What a coincidence! I had a bad attack yesterday riding in the backseat of a car. I had to just close my eyes and not look around. Then this morning when I woke up it hit again. I had to lay still for 30 mins with a full bladder before it calmed. >:(

I'm chalking it up to a severe thunderstorm that rolled in last night.

I'm seeing my doctor for a work assessment on Friday and I'm going to ask him about it.

Walkers, do you notice your lightheadness after meals? I know several fibromites have hypoglycemic reaction. I suffer from it myself.

couchtater, let me know what your doctor says, I would be very interested!

Ak angel, hhhhmmm, no not sure its worse after meals particularly..is that to do with diabetes? Not sure exactly what that is...I have been tested for diabetes if it is that and all was fine.

I am thinking its something inner ear or to do with some sort of vertigo perhaps

Hello,

I too have made the same complaint, and also since I was diagnosed with FMS in 2011 have had dizziness and lightheadedness frequently.

In fact, it was one of the first symptoms i can remember before the body aches and pains.

In fact, i have it now! It seems to come in waves for me, I can have it everday for a few weeks, then it will subside for a little while, then its back.

I also have mentioned this to my Neurologist and he doesnt seem to concerned with it, i mean that its a problem.

Its annoying and it does worry me but i try to remind myself that its probably nothing serious, i have test done, ct,mri, heart tests and nothing.

My Neuro however did educate a great deal on headaches.

My guess is, this may be a varient of headaches or migranes, maybe more common in people with fms?

However it can happen even with out a (noticeable) headache, but possibly headache related??

I'm still trying to figure it out too,

the best thing is to.

Stay educated on what we have and Dont have.

keep in contact with our Dr.s frequently or as scheduled

and when in doubt, ask or vent on this forum. :-)

Keep in touch and let me know what your Neuro thinks next time you him or her. 

By the way, do you have any Gi problems?

just thought id ask as i do, and these started before the fms.

WOW..this must be the day for it..maybe its the rain..I have went back to work a little over a month (even when my dr said not to get my hopes up) it has been going pretty good, even when i didn't feel good I was able to hide it from co workers. boss and such, but today, well i had a full blown anxiety attack, right in front of co worker..bp was 150/90..h. rate was 113. so after the dust settled I had some explaining to do. They all acted real sympathetic, but I could see in their face that I might not want to get to comfortable. So my next stop was to SSI board..to sign up for disability. REALLY did not want to do that, especially at 40. But I might have to face up to some reality.
But i hope everyone is feeling better this evening. I'm still a little shaky, always am after an attack. And still really dizzy have been all day..
Not taken any meds yet..can not afford..medical coverage dropped when i went back to work and coverage at work will not start for 6 months. sad the dr wants to put my on cymbalta 300.00 a month.

When I am lightheaded or experience vertigo, I know that a flare is imminent. I try to cut way back on my activities & rest a lot more.

I get dizzy spells occasionally, just out of the blue. I've caught myself a few times having to hold onto something, for fear I'd fall backwards. Not sure where they come from, but I've had them for quite a few years now.

More rarely, I get vertigo, and the whole room will be circling around.  I can feel it even when I close my eyes.  But I would suspect that may be more related to the ears/balance(?)

I often feel faint and dizzy, especially before and during a flare up.
