going back on remeron

Hi all

Wanted to ask your opinions. As I have REAL trouble with sleep, Remeron/mitrazapine was the only thing i have tried in past that helped me

Im seeing doc tomorrow and will talk to her about coming off amitriptyline as don't think its helping anymore. And maybe going back on remeron.

My question is, as these sort of meds leave me feeling very lethargic during the day, is there something that we can combine with it...like Coenzyme 10 for energy building?

I know i need to ask doc about interactions, but i feel like i need to take these kind of proposals in with me as doc doesn't really have a clue!

I wish I could advise you here, Wackers. Going without sleep is the pits!

I have to sleep in a separate room from hubby, take Nortriptyline AND Klonopin, have room-darkening curtains, etc. etc. And still, my sleep is far from perfect :(

Wakers- I have told you before that I am on remron. I don't use another drug to counteract the somulance effect. I just drink caffeine or take a shower to wake me up. It does have some side effects I don't like as decrease libido, gain weight and emotions seem dry.

thanks ak angel...I had forgot I'd already asked you.

Do you find it helped your pain? Or did you just find that by sleeping better this helped itself?

Ive got the ones that melt on your tongue

Have given up caffeine as trying to detox a bit at moment...asked pharmacist about taking Coenzyme 10, she said it was fine :o)

Wackers I do take 30 mg of the melty tabs. I found they work so much better then the pill. It works fast on me. I will take one and read in bed always following asleep quickly. I take subutex for pain, so it's hard to say if it helps or not. The worse problem I have that it gives you hungar pains after taking it. So my body wants to eat a huge meal at bed time. So I try to tell myself that it's a false appetite and I take than just as I am getting into bed. I do know it has something in it for racing thoughts. I got tired of it a few times, but always come back to it. I am very senstive to most drugs. I suffer from seizures so I had to stop Wellbutrin.

I have the melty ones also...haven't tried them yet, waiting for a weekend when im not at work.

Yeah i had the hunger thing before, though I dont mind as have lost appetite at moment, including a lot of weight so could do with some gain.

Whats Subutex? Im not on anything for pain other than odd diazpam or odd cocodamol. (was on amitriptyline) but weaning off that now

I need the racy thought control...maybe i will stick with them this time, i was only on them 2 weeks before and couldnt handle the zombie feeling...Im going to try and counteract it with some energy products

I use clonazapham and zolpidem. Zolpidem do have some side effect when you use it long term.

I noticed some of your post stating you're in UK, if you're near bristol or London. There's a FMS specialist that I used to go to, I quite like him.

He is quite helpful, but very expensive.

Yes heard of him, he does some work at Guys Hospital in London on NHS also, as my friend is on waiting list to see him. I will go down this route, you need to have had it for a while to qualify for this though.

Are you from UK? Im only about 1 hr from London

I lived in UK for 1.5 years between 2009 - 2011. He helped me through his private practise near Baker Street. He's very patient and have lots of idea and kept up with new techniques and new medication available for FMS that's approved for UK. As you must have figure out by now that there' re many drugs most ppl in these forum has are very foreign to non US citizen. We don't get Flexiril, Sevella or most muscle relaxants Americans can get their hands on. I used both medicine before cause I was in USA for 3 months and was first diagnosed there. And I like Flexiril, can't say Sevella really worked for me.

Since I wasn't on the NHS system, I went down the private practise path with Prof Davies, it's expensive, but he's worth every penny.

Wackers - subutex is a med that some of the pain management dr's are usung. It comes from the same med of suboxen. Suboxen has two different meds in it. The first part is called buprenorphine and the other half is naloxone. Well subutex is only made up of buprenorphine. Several companies are coming up with patches, films you put under your tongue, and mine goes under your tongue. My subutex I take is suppose to be so much stronger then the patch. It works really well for me. Suboxen was a drug made to help addiction from opiates. It makes the withdrawls comfortable and causes less cravings. They put the naloxone in it so people wouldn't sneak opiates while taking it. It would make you very sick if you took opiates with suboxen.

They notice how well suboxen work for pain, so they took naloxone out. This way you can mix different meds with it. It really helps my pain. I rarely have breakthrough pain. I have been on it for 4 years. You can look it up on line. It can be expensive if you don't have insurance. It's one of those drugs you have to get approval on your insurance. I have tried to get off it, but my pain was too bad. I love how it doesn't make you so dependent like opiates does. No cravings. When you look it up it it amazing how it's made to work. Maybe that might be an opition for you.
