Good days and bad days

So I am very new....How many of you have back to back good and bad days? It could just be work and my schedule ( I work night shift 11PM to 7AM) But It seems like the last two days of last week I was miserable and could hardly make myself get out of bed and move around. Saturday I was pretty ok. Sunday was iffy....Now I'm back to being miserable again. Is this pretty normal? Or does it mean that during my work week I am doing too much? I am a single mother right now and I have no choice but to continue to work the same hours. I am however heading back to school. Need to continue my education so that I can open doors to less physical jobs in my field.

It is normal to have bad days with nothing, seemingly, prompt them. They kinda happen. It might mean you are doing too much on work days. Or not. There is little rhyme or reason. It will just happen.

How are you sleeping? This can have a heck of a lot to do with it....

Myself is correct. We have good and bad days since fibro waxes and wanes. Maybe you are under more stress during the work day and that can cause more pain, too. Also, do you have a desk job? If so, try to get up and walk around as often as you can. Sitting and laying too long will make you stiff as a board and cause more pain.

In Fibro 101 there are some gentle stretching exercises that can be done sitting down. You could do these at your deskif you do have a desk job and probably no one would notice.

Many times I figured my pain increased by usually doing too much in one day. Stress will really set it off. Lately my pain has been out of control. I figured mine come from my excercise program. If you learn the concept of doing things in moderation it does help me. Many times I will be doing something and I am feeling really good to continue, but in back of my head I have learned to tell myself stop while your feeling good. I think mothers don't know how to relax and do things in moderation.

Yes, I get this. It's always been that way with my Fibro. Sometimes I understand why, and other times, not. It's maddening.

Good for you, going ahead with school! I forget if you mentioned what kind of work you're doing now, and what your field is?...

Kael, as the others have said there are good and bad days.

How old are your kid(s)? Are you getting enough time to sleep? Is your room dark enough to get good sleep? I'd do everything I could to make sure that you are getting the best quality sleep you can.

I was working 5 am to 2 pm and had to commute for an hour so I had to get up shortly after 3 am when I was first diagnosed. My pre-teen and teenagers needed me when they were home from school so I could never get to bed early enough to have 7-8 straight hours of sleep. I tried to nap on my lunch hour or for an hour before they got home from school, but all of that interrupted sleep wasn't enough for me and I had to find another job in my company where I could work more normal hours.

Hi Kael, it's pretty much like the others have said. Sometimes you can figure out what causes a worsening of symptoms, and other times it makes no sense at all. To help you figure out some of your triggers/relaxers, I suggest using the fibro log. It only takes about 5 mins to do each time you use it, and you can do it once every 1-3 days to help you figure out patterns. http://www.theacpa.org/fibroLog/default.aspx
