Hi everyone,
I am aware that fibromyalgia is, at least in part, a neurological condition. I have been reading a book about neuroplasticity and am excited about the implications this could have for fibromyalgia. I wondered: could fibromyalgia symptoms be decreased through using neuroplastic techniques? So I did some googling - and I came across a concept called limbic retraining. Some people seem to have found success in recovering from FMS, CFS, MCS, etc. by completing limbic retraining programs.
As you know, I'm always wary of scams... so I'm going to ask you guys: have any of you (or someone you know) tried limbic retraining? Did it help? Was it a waste of money?
Does this idea sound reasonable to you?
If I do buy a limbic retraining program, I won't be expecting a miracle cure. I would integrate it into my holistic healthcare plan.
There has only been one proper study done about this (that I am aware of): http://www.guptaprogramme.com/mayoclinicstudy2012.pdf
There are some interesting points raised in this: http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/dynamic-neural-retraining/
I'm not recommending the Gupta Amygdala Retraining Program over the Dynamic Neural Retraining System or any other limbic retraining program that may be out there. It just happens that the only study I could find was done on the Gupta program.
