Despite living in the 'frozen tundra' of the Northern U.S. all my life, my body is extremely sensitive to cold. As an example, yesterday it was in the comfortable 70s, and it cooled off to 59 degrees last night (cool, even for here, this time of year). This brought back soreness in my upper right leg and general achiness in that leg. I suspect I don't get adequate blood flow, for some reason, in my right side, because that's where most of my issues are--though my left side isn't great, either. I haven't been able to afford to examine this further with a doctor, due to our insurance not being so great. It just sort of clears up, mostly, in warmer months, and returns when it cools outside.
I put warm blankets on my bed, which helps, but it would really help, I think, to have something I could wear at night to warm my body from the top of my legs down. I have tried compression stockings during the day, but I get cramping in my feet from them.
A massage sounds good, but this is a rural area, and none close by.
Does anyone know of anything that helps with warmth and circulation? I've had this issue for years, and it always kicks up in cooler weather. My doctor said I live in the wrong climate, which I know, but we just can't relocate right now. As I said, blankets help, but I don't want too many on me, or that causes issues, too. Is there something more lightweight but warm that would work?
Thanks for any ideas.
