Hi, FabulosityGirl, and welcome! This sounds like a form of neuropathy to me. I'm not a doctor...just guessing. You usually have tingling and burning feelings for a while before the numbness sets in. People with diabetes can get this. I had a friend who couldn't feel the bottom of her feet. Other illnesses like Lyme disease can present this, too. But fibro does affect our nerves and we are all different.
But, I feel you should check this out with your doctor and not guess about this. This isn't from pain levels. If your pain was tremendous you wouldn't have been able to turn on the faucet.
Another thing that can cause numbness in your hands is carpal tunnel. I have that but my hands tingle before they get numb.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links for you would be called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
