I've asked for sleep meds from several of my doctors but no one will give them to me. The only one who told me why was my lung doctor who also monitors my cpap machine. She told me to do the sleep hygenie directions on a paper she gave me and reset my inner clock. Believe me it doesn't help if you're not sleepy and in pain some.
List of things keeping me awake:
Bed sheet hurts toes
Back locks up when turning over
Having night sweats
Ears ringing due to hearing loss
Mind won't shut up
Nose stuffy
Can't find a comfortable position that is pain free
Mouth dry inside and out
Itchy hair getting inside cpap mask
Cpap slipping and making odd sounds, if I adjust the straps tighter they hurt my head
As you see things just keep me agitated and keep me from relaxing enough to fall asleep. I could add more things but you get the gist. Sigh......
It's now 2:05am and I'm going to try to lay down and unwind. If I'm still awake at3am I'm taking benadryl and knock myself out. I just can't function the next day after taking it. Night ya'll.
