So I had an appointment today with the rheumy. This was a new doc for me, and I was a bit apprehensive about
seeing him to begin with.
1~ It was NOT the rheumy I asked to be sent to when my primary said I need to go to one.
2~ In reading his patient reviews, 5 out of 6 said he did not deal with fibromyalgia
(This is what I was sent for)
3~ SO I called his secretary, and told her my concerns..that I was being sent there for fibro, and yet he had NO good reviews on the internet. I realize that you have to take that with a grain of salt, that not everyone would be happy with the outcome of a doctors appointment. So, I decided to keep it, based on his secretaries assurances.
4~ I go to appt., he appears very attentive, does his physical exam, says I have osteoarthritis.. and he would like to do blood work and x rays to rule out other stuff.. ok, I agree that things obviously need to be done to rule out stuff..ok.. no problem. We get to the end of the appointment, and he goes, "Well, I will tell you this, I DO NOT deal with fibromyalgia, I don't believe it exists, but I will test you for other things, and if anything comes up, I will treat you for that."
SOOOOO NOT HAPPY... then to top that off, when leaving his office complex, I step onto (what I think) is a sidewalk, only to find there is no sidewalk on the other side of the curb, it is a HOLE!!! I ended up throwing out my back
Really running the gambit of emotions today..and just want to cry!
