We went up to the mountains again yesterday. Did a moderate hike (two miles but up and down), ate our lunch, and then did an easy hike (1 mile). My endurance is getting better and better as I work out and keep plugging away. Super slow, rest when I need to, and then keep on going.
I didn't fall this time. I also managed to get right to the edge of over-doing. Rah! Came home, cleaned up, took a painkiller, and was fine.
Building your endurance and your strength pays off, eventually.

Your a climber for sure. You would love Alaska for sure. I can't do very much at all. Keep the good work up.

When you cannot control some things, it is best to do what you can to feel better. I may not be able to hike all day, but I can still get out and enjoy myself. Staying still benefits nothing.
The hikes are made possible by 3-4 gym visits weekly, the elliptical, the stationary bike, and the pool. Without this, I wouldn't be able to even try this.
Thanks, Junnie! Angel, you are doing well, yourself. And Karen, I firmly believe you can control how you react to things. You cannot control what life dishes out, but your response to it is what defines you.
Peace, chawl.

Thanks for the inspiration! I used to do a lot of hiking and haven't been in almost a year.

I guess I should add that my boyfriend carries water (and bandaids), makes me stop if I am having trouble, offers me water every 15 minutes, and stays near me on the trail. He is very helpful when we go out together.

This is awesome :) I just LOVE a good hike :) Puts me in touch with nature.
Yea', it is a long road to becoming fit, but it is SOOOO important with every aspect of our health (and our Fibro) that maybe nothing is more worthwhile...
Keep at it :)
Peace,
Fish

I'm glad you had the chance to do some hiking, I bet the scenery was gorgeous too. I hope to get out in the woods this weekend if it doesn't rain. There is something about
being out in nature's beauty that is so healing.
Hugs, Robin
