Arianna,
It really is hard to be so young and not be able to do the things everyone else is doing...I was only a couple of years older than you when it started happening to me. I was in a prenatal exercise class with my 2nd child, and I realized the very simple exercises I was doing were too much for me - which was odd. A while after my daughter was born, I tried to exercise through it, and it only made things worse. I had to cut back and back. Eventually, I had to stop going to the spa and working out on the Nautilus machines I loved - and I really missed that feeling of my body being well-toned (sigh)
I'm not sure about
that hump you mentioned (that fibro patients go through) - ? If you mean the initial process of getting moving after being sedentary for awhile, yes, that is important. We can't be still for too long without paying for it.
Why would you hold off on icing or heating your knees, if it would make them feel better? It's always good to listen to your body. If what your doing is causing pain, get it checked out - and stop, or at least cut back. I'm glad you're stretching...that's so important.
I walk and try to do my physical therapy exercises (mostly core-strengthening) which a therapist gave me after spine surgery. Once in awhile, I walk in a warm-water pool....should do it more often, it always makes me feel better.
Otherwise, just daily life - the things I have to do around the house - is enough exercise for me. If I had a maid, cook, and shopper, I'd be able to do more actual exercising - but I don't see that happening any time soon!
