I am strong advocate for medical mj. I have had limited success with traditional Rx due to the side effects, or not working at all. I have also been given a thumbs up from my doctor and allergist (they are against smoking it of course, but okay with all other methods).
Most important is finding strains that work for you. As another poster mentioned, they use 2, one for sleep and one for energy - and I do this as well.
I prefer sativa strains for energy and have found a few that work exceptionally well. Vaporizing is my preferred way of consumption, and I use a handheld personal vaporizer. I save the material after use and store it to mix with food for a home made "edible" (I like to mix the dried material with yogurt). Most pre-packaged edibles I have tried don't really provide the kind of relief I'm looking for. Also, with some edibles, you don't know what strains they are made from, so it's more trial and error testing them out.
Topicals (balm/lotion) with high CBD have worked great for me as well. My next thing to try will be tinctures which can be made with alcohol or vegetable glycerin, and those are administered by putting drops under the tongue.
Finding a good dispensary is key - you want to look for one that tests for mold/pesticides, etc., as well as tests for the levels of THCA/CBD/CBN, so you know what you are buying, and takes some of the guesswork out of trying something new. I visited a few dispensaries before finding the one I like - I look for testing, as well as staff that is knowledgeable and experienced with medical mj for Fibro patients.
