Hey! So, I'm still in the diagnosis process here...

After waiting 5 weeks, I finally got my results from the skin biopsy - abnormal! Woohoo! I say woohoo because it feels like an answer! Small Fiber Neuropathy. I have more bloodwork on Friday to see if we can rule out some causes. With my positive ANA, I wonder if it is an autoimmune thing after all. All my other bloodwork (extensive) has been negative.

I believe Fibromyalgia is alive and well in me, and from my research, fibro and SFN are holding hands and playing together on the playground. ;)

Anyway, just sharing! Funny how excited one can be about an abnormal result, eh?

Hope everyone is doing ok in this COLD weather!!! Yeeouch!

Jennifer, I'm so sorry about your new diagnosis but, yes, there are many things that go hand in hand with fibro. Fibro isn't considered an autoimmune problem but I have several other illnesses that are so my inflammation rate is through the ceiling.

But, it is really good to know what is going on so you can be treated properly and feel better. This happened with me when I was really suffering a ton of pain and then found out I had another illness that was causing it....not just fibro. I was put on proper medication and now I'm doing the best I've done in a very long time. So, I'm hoping this will happen to you.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I googled and have a number of those symptoms, so it's definitely an eye opener for me too. Yay to finally getting somewhere with a name!

AnnaBananna - yes, there is quite a connection between fibromyalgia and Small Fiber Neuropathy! Good luck. I feel the same way. ;)
