Hi, it's been a while since I have posted anything. I've been trying to deal with Fibro andit isn't a very easy thing to do (as you all know) Recently I have had such awful wrist pain and have had 16 treatments of OT for it and it just will not get any better. Has anyone else encountered wrist pain?
I also have pretty bad osteo arthritis and it seems when this flares up the fibro just goes wild too. Does anyone have any suggestions or info? I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2009 and I thought I was dealing with it pretty good, but I guess I could use some input from someone who knows what I'm dealing with. Thanks for letting me vent and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I don't have any advice for you. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and I do emphasize with you. It is all a day to day thing for all of us.

Hi, I do have OA and when it hurts the fibro goes nuts too.
I take an anti-inflamatory ( don't tell my kidney doc) do muscle rubs, aspercream, and australian dream.
Not to mention heat, ice, and braces if needed.
I make sure not to brace more than a few days though. Just long enough to give it a rest.

Sorry your having so much pain. I would think after that many treatments with no good results I would stop them. Have you tried meds for your arthritis? It's not carpel tunnel? I am sure you have had it look at throughly. Do you use your wrist frequently for a job?

Hi, sorry for your increased pain.

Have you looked at Fibro 101 lately? I sometimes have to refresh my memory by going there....or gone to the Osteoarthritis forum?

I hear you, when one part of my body flares up, it seems like all the other vulnerable parts go along for the ride - yipee ;( That's been happening a lot lately, and I'm not enjoying it AT all.

I hope you can find some relief soon.

I am about to embark on carpel tunnel conservative treatment (night splint, etc). This pain comes and goes but I have noticed for the last few months that my hand refuses to allow normal circulation at night, which is causing a now pretty permanent carpel tunnel symptom throughout the morning and work day. I wish you the best!

Thank you all for your comments. Its good to know that there are people who do understand about this kind of pain. As for the carpal tunnel, I have had surgery on both hands and the pain and numbness from that seems to be gone. This wrist pain is right where the wrist bends and I think it could be from the fibro because I can't touch my wrist if my hands are cold or put a cold pack on it because the pain is unbearable. I use heat all the time.
Is that a nerve thing? I just don't know anymore.
I also wanted to know if anyone has ringing in their ears. I have never had this until recently and was wondering if this is from the fibro or something that happens as we age (I'm 59)

I'm 59 too - as of 4 days ago :)

My hearing is so weird; I've been told I have Meniere's Disease - anyway, my hearing is lousy and getting lousier by the year. I do sometimes have ringing, but luckily it's a muted sound, almost more of a vibration.

We're all different, but when my Sciatic Nerve pain was at its worst, (and it was Winter) I couldn't stand anything but ice on it, and I normally hate ice. It's such a burning pain. I still use it when it flares up.

But for muscle pain, I always want heat. And for life in general...I could stand by a heating vent forever.

Debbie, I know what you mean about always wanting heat. I am always cold and a blanket is never to far away. This ringing or noise in my ear is very annoying and I guess I haven't had it checked out yet.
I don't notice it so much during the day, but when I'm trying to go to sleep,then it's there. Oh well just another thing in the day of having fibro.
Today is a good day and I am always so grateful for these days. I wish I could bottle them for future use. I hope your day is going good too.
