Have any of you experienced this? I've been having blurry vision since I've been taking pregablin/lyrica. Initially I didn't know but now it makes sense that it's the side effect. I used to see perfectly just a couple of months ago and all of a sudden it's like this. I'm already getting tired of prescription meds. Lyrica leads to weight gain and blurry vison etc. Amitriptiline leads to weight gain and blurry vision, the doc proposed it and I refused. He proposed another med too, doesn't lead to weight gain but blurry vision.

I absolutely refuse to take something that leads to weight gain. I've always been active and slim, a bit too active actually playing 4 different sports in college and then continuing with tennis 7 times a week after which I had wrist surgery, over played and didn't strengthen. I was told I could play again but now I found out that I have fibro so I need to take it easy.

Is anyone using a regimen that doesn't include prescription medications like these and the pain is still controlled?

I get blurry vision, but I am not on any medications. Does your blurry vision come and go? Mine seems to... but I have constant, severe pressure in my neck, head and eyes (which I think is a separate diagnosis/ problem altogether). My blurred vision may have to do with all of the pressure in my head and eyes though because it seems to wax and wane with how bad the pressure is. Or it may even have to do with how severely chronically dry my eyes are. So your issue may be different from mine altogether, but I figured I could at least tell you that I do have FMS + blurry vision that waxes and wanes. Sorry if I was of no help! I will tell you though that if you have any new symptoms while on a medication, you should ALWAYS let your doctor know. Just in case. Nice to meet you!

Blurry vision is common in fibromites. Many of us have dry eyes too. It seems to me that if I use my moisture drops my blurry vision is better. Have you tried some moisture eye drops? I know the drugs can cause this blurry vision.

I try to stay as natural as I can. I do take subutex for pain with vitamin supplements. I seem to have good control for years. I can give credit to not working too. Lol

yep i get this too - i t seemed to develop after medication for me, but i recently tried coming off all meds and went natural for a while, my blurry vision continued...I feel mine is due to lack of sleep

Im back on amitriptyline, this is the one i keep going off then end up going back on...it caused no weight gain for me...Im slim and was active also and have not been exercising much at all - except for yoga and stretching, walking etc...no weight gain whatsoever

Nice to meet you too Eden. Amazing how i find answers here :) I don't ever remember having blurry vision even 2 months ago but its developed since i took pregabalin recently. My eyes are dry too but have been for a while, i guess i just didn't know before. I do have moisture eye drops, will try them. I've read that in fibro you have blurry vision but on top of that meds cause more blurriness, its ridiculous! Who the hell makes these meds?

Lol (who makes them)?!

I have no health insurance, and I have NO treatment whatsoever. However, I will tell you that I'm scared of meds because I am often severely allergic to medications (and to foods- to everything!) AND I also have SEVERE gastrointestinal problems. So, no meds for me.

I will tell you though that I'm getting desperate at this point! 6 or 7, or almost 8 I think yrs with Fibromyalgia and no treatment, other than natural things that I do for myself (with no relief).

Yeah, my eyes have progressively gotten worse in certain aspects. The dryness is so bad it literally can ruin my days all on its own! I rinse my eyes out several times a day with cool water, use eye drops throughout the days as well as a lubricating ointment (gel) at night. Not much makes a difference. It's terrible! I almost feel as though maybe I have Sjogren's, which isn't uncommon in Fibromites.

I do hope you inform your doctor of your new symptoms. Hope you're feeling better today!
