I'm still hanging on :)

Robin, I'm so sorry. I don't know how it got so bad so quickly because you have been right on top of this since you were first diagnosed.

But, getting back to my grandmother, they didn't operate on her either for the cancer. They did exploratory surgery to see what was going on, discovered a tumor that practically filled her abdominal cavity, and they didn't touch the tumor for fear she wouldn't survive. They stitched her up and said they could only try chemo. She did the chemo. The cancer went into remission, and she passed on fifteen years later of Alzheimer's.

Never give up hope. You will not leave here until God is ready for you.

Now, back to my prayers.

Robin: I was just thinking of you yesterday. As Sherrine says, don't give up hope. I was extremely sick when I was very young, then all of a sudden, I took a turn for the BETTER. Even the doctor said he believed it was a miracle and he believed the prayers made all the difference.

I'm asking some 'prayer warrior' friends to "pray for Robin." Know that many, many people are pulling for you. God bless!!

The first time around, my cancer was considered well differentiated. This time it is poorly differentiated, meaning the cancer cells are more aggressive. I am surprised at how fast my condition had deteriated. I am anxious to start treatment...I'm ready to fight!!!!

Just a thought, Robin, have you tried any of the nutrition shakes (Boost, Ensure, etc.)?

I drank some a few years ago when I had gastritis and couldn't eat much of anything.

No this wasn't the news we were hoping for, but you are ready to fight - and that is good! To paraphrase a line from MTM yrs ago. 'You've got spunk, I like spunk!!' :)))))

When my DM was dx w/ BC, she had surgery & chemo (& later radiation). She had a tough time trying to eat, too. She came back to my house, and I would fix her anything she wanted. She couldn't eat, but she did try to drink the Ensure, broth, tea, and some ginger ale. I spoke w/ her dr. He said it would be good if she could eat, but if she at least would drink fluids & keep hydrated, it was better than nothing. Perhaps bland fluids would be an option.

I think you know we all care for you very much. We are all w/ you in prayers and/or thoughts. Post when you are able, but save your strength for the FIGHT!

I was supposed to meet the new oncologist this coming Wednesday. Hubby was upset that there was not a sense of urgency to see me sooner. I was able to see another oncologist this past Thursday. He spent an hour with us. He confirmed that my cancer is at an advanced stage and I needed a PET scan. I had one this past Friday. I meet with the doc on Monday to see the results. If the cancer has spread throughout my body, I don't know if I'd be willing to do radiation, or just or just opt for pallative cars. Hubby has stayed home from work to care for me.

My sister was to fly in today and spend a week. Her husband had a heart test earlier in the week and ended up with an emergency quadruple bypass, my prayers are with them. Hubby has vacation time and he will use his days caring for me and then retire.

I remain very weak, but thankful for what I'm still able to do. I've been offered strong pain medication and will most likely start taking it. Biting the bullet does not seem to be working. I don't want to sleep my life away.

I look in at the forum and wish I had the strength to respond. You all are in my prayers!

So happy your husband stepped in and you can get the ball rolling sooner. Praying for good news on your PET scan and hopefully you can start treatment immediately.
