Results of MRI of back!

Well, here I am again going through the MRI scanner for my back. I had mention in previous post that for some reason my pain is out of control. I have had always good pain control for a few years. So I have been going to all my numerious Dr's complaing of increased pain mostly in my legs. They ask you questions like do you have numbness or weakness? I told them yes, because I have and I just thought it was fibro. My Dr's kept on passing me around with an answer just do more exercise.

Finally last week I was in severe pain and went to main Dr. She ruled out blood clots and then I mention something about my back. It gave he an idea to check it. The results were kind of shocking to me. I have 2 bad discs, multiple degenerative joint facets and stenosis in 2 areas of my spine. I was kind of happy they found something. I sometimes get treated poorly for my pain because of my dependency history of narcotics. I am going to have to talk to them about this issue because it really frustrates me. I never mention I want anything, but they look st me like they don't take me serious.

I saw my neuro Dr., pain management, psychologist and finally my main Dr. Seen how much pain I was in. I really don't have much back pain, but I have bad front leg pains. I hope this will make stronger in believing myself when something g is wrong. Now I am going to see my pain management Dr. to see my options.

I just wish we knew how to tell the diffberence between fibro and real illness.

Angel, that is an awful position to be in…to be in pain but feel like you are only seen as a drug seeker. If only there was a scanner that could rate pain objectively…a wand to pass over our bodies and a number would show up to reveal a calibrated pain scale. Maybe someday.
I am glad you are finding out what is causing some of your leg pain. Be outrightly honest with the docs about your past and determine that you are worth the attempt to find a way to alleviate the pain you are in now.

So sorry to hear of the new diagnosis! But,hopefully some of your pain can be managed more effectively. Nothing ever stays the same, unfortunately.

I did want to mention one thing. You say you feel judged by the doctors because of your past. It is possible that you are being sensitive to a doctor's professional gaze/manner. I am not talking his/her people skills, but their professional face when they are sorting, thinking, weighting problems and solutions. I could be wrong, but many professionals are far more engaged in the thought-process rather than the person in front of them. Truly, it is the information which matters.
