I've made a few short comments on a few threads previously but figure it would be polite to intro myself.
As the Wombat ID suggests, I'm an Aussie. At the current time, I'm being investigated for likely Fibro by my rheumatologist. My sister was diagnosed with Fibro (which she experiences periodically) and it appears that I "tick a lot of boxes" for Fibro.
I'm diagnosed with IBS (also have Diverticulosis; Costochondritis; Anxiety (primarily in the form of Agoraphobia w Panic Disorder)- member of the Anxiety subforum; Depression - dysthymia; GERD; TMJ pain (but thankfully no loss of function); Sleep Apnea (thankfully doing well on CPAP) and daily headaches.
Test results so far: Blood test identified significant Vitamin D deficiency; left shoulder ultrasound identified bursitis. Had a full body bone scan yesterday - the doctor advised looked mostly good and allayed my fears of a possible stress fracture in shin and hip bone pain (seems likely sciatica) but asked questions re Costo and did an extra series of scans of chest area. Will hear verdict when I see rheumy on Tuesday. Have a nerve conduction study booked for early June which should at least give some answers to certain pain issues.
Like many of you, I battle with daily pain (been a constant in recent months) and it's a constant fight to keep "the rational overruling the irrational". Will be more than happy to use whatever knowledge and experience that I may've gained to assist others. Fibro tends to cross any number of "boundaries.
