My wrists used to really hurt. Especially worse around my periods. for a while I wore those carpal tunnel supports at night for my hands and wrists. i would bend the inserted metal piece trying to get comfortable. Some times I pulled the metal out. if they are ever bad these days, I need a small pillow supporting wrists/hands at night.
The worst of that was in the early days. I do think that getting better deep sleep helps both my wrists and my ankles. They are my signs that I need a bit more of my tricyclic antidepressant before bed. It was getting on amitriptyline that eventually improved this. Nortriptyline could be a better choice. it has fewer side effects.
i still had the wrist pain during periods tho. I used to get progesterone troche's --pronounced troshay' I think -- ( a Gynecologist prescribed lozenge from a compounding pharmacist) and it seemed to help much of the PMS stuff.
Sometimes burning pain is from small fiber neuropathies. They sometimes take tissue biopsies to diagnose. Biopsies in fibro patients were better for diagnosing that than some kind of nerve conduction type testing. There have been five ---no I think it's at least six-- small fibro studies of small fiber neuropathies, resulting in further diagnostic test being done n those patients, and then finding a number of patients would go on to get another diagnosis for the neuropathies. Deficiencies, or handling glucose improperly, and other reasons I can't recall. One patient did not have fibro after all, and was put on immunoglobulin. She was in one study which was by Oaklander, and I think another study was by Levine, if you want to start looking. i wrote up on a bunch of them on the forum called HealClick, tho. Let me kno if u want the link.
Are you doing a repetitive job?
