Hi, Hurtygirl, and welcome! What do you take for fibro? There are a few supplements that help with pain and could possibly help you. They are magnesium malate and vitamin D3. We tend to be low in those and that will cause more pain. Also, are you moving some? If you sit or lay too long you will be stiff as a board and have more pain. Daily stretching exercises and daily gentle exercise like walking really help a lot. I know exercise is the last thing you want to do with a flare but walking has helped me so much...flare or no flare. I always feel better and have less pain and fatigue when I get back home. I walk at least 30 minutes a day.
Do you have a Bed Buddy? You can find these at Walgreens, Bed, Bath, and Beyone and other places. You pop them in the microwave and they give off moist heat that feels wonderful on those achey muscles.
Our flares are so fickle. They can last a day, a week or even months. So it's good to keep moving and focus on other things that you can do to take your mind off the flare. It's good fibro waxes and wanes because at least you know this will go away eventually.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. I've had fibro for 25 years and am still learning new things.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
