tramadol and gastro/intestinal side effects?

Anyone have gastro/intestinal side effects with tramadol? I started taking it in March and was fine until recently. I have gone on a liquid diet, watched what I was eating, etc. The only thing that I haven't eliminated was the pain pill. I hate to go off of it because it makes me feel so much better as far as pain is concerned. I guess I will have to just to see if this is causing my problems.

I do sometimes have IBS symptoms but this has lasted a few weeks.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

I have taken tramadol, mostly at night, but not more than 2 tablets at a time, and have not experienced any gastro issues. When I am on Savella (SNRI) which I am now, I don't need the tramadol much. The Savella completely takes away my IBS issues, so I know that my IBS is directly connected to the fibro.

The only side effect it's given me is constipation...

Tramadol can make you lose some weight. It tends to give me a poor appetite.

Thanks all.

Ak angel, I have lost weight since I've been on it. I wondered if it was the tramadol or the gabapentin I take at night before bed.

I guess the other is just an IBS flare. I will keep watching what I eat for a while. If it keeps up I guess I go to the doctor, AGAIN. :-( For now I've stopped the tramadol for just a few days to see.
