My issues started with chronic diarrhea many years ago, a few months after the birth of my youngest. I had many tests, but nothing conclusive. I was on 50 mg of Elavil for years, which slowly dried out my system. I still get urgency quite often, but not nearly as bad as back then.
Looking back, I have to wonder if that wasn't due to weird nerves at play, since fibro can affect the nerves just about
everywhere. It just came out of the blue and I couldn't even leave the house for many weeks--yes, weird. Glad you are no longer dealing with it, but good to be checked by the gastro.
The symptoms you list surely sound like fibro, but it's best to see a doctor, neurologist, or rheumatologist to rule out anything else going on.
I'm with Karen in saying try not to think about
it too much. So many of us have done that and it's easy to do, but nothing is ever conclusive. Searching the Internet is tempting, but often makes the anxiety worse. (Do a search here for 'anxiety' and you'll find a lot of suggestions--also check the anxiety forum).
I wish you the best and hope you get answers soon. Keep posting here (this is a great bunch of people!), and glad you are checking in with those doctors. I know it always eases my mind to get checked over, and I hope it will help you, too.
Best wishes and welcome!!
