It is hard to tell the difference between the two. From what I have read the key factor in cfs is the post exercise malaise, if you have that - then you have cfs. My Dr. insists that I just have fm, but with the constant flue feeling and the post malaise, I know it is something more.
But, what I have determined is that it really doesn't matter what name any one puts to it, it is the symptoms that I have to deal with. I don't need a diagnosis to tell me that I am not "normal", have lost my way of life and now must learn to deal with good days and bad days (or weeks, or months).
Hope you feel better. I have learned that diet is key for me. I have to stay away from chocolate, sugar, ice cream and processed foods - and - eat more raw fruits and veggies. If I do that I can manage pretty well. It is managing the stress level that is hard though. I also flare under stress and that seems to be a constant in my life that just seems to want to be my constant companion these days.
Hope you are doing better. I have been down for months at a time and know how frustrating and depressing it is.....
