Neena, I'm taking folic acid and that is supposed to help with memory. They are starting to use this with Alzheimer's disease. I've been taking it for years and I don't think my fog is as bad as a lot on this forum. Yes, I still get it but it comes and goes. There are times I can't remember how to balance my checkbook but I just put it aside for a day and the next day I can balance it in minutes!
Also, don't stress over it. Really! That just adds to the fog and causes more stress which causes more pain and fog. Try laughing off your mistakes. Here is a link that lets you know you definitely are not alone with this.

Keep reading, too. I love to read and most days I can with ease. Speaking of reading, there is a great book called The Memory Book by Harry Lorayne and Jerry Lucas. I read it about 30+ years ago but it's still being sold on Amazon and it's not expensive either. I am still using techniques I read in that book to help me remember things! So you might think about getting that book, too.
I do hope you relax about this and start getting better with your memory. It's really frustrating when you know what you want to say but it's on the tip of your tongue. I hate people finishing sentences for me and I also am tired of trying to start my car with the key to my freezer. LOL
Have a good evening.
