Hello new here and have some questions

A little about me. Dec 19,2007 I was render by someone while I was at a dead stop and they were going 65 mph. On the 26th of dec I we t to my doctor with massiv migraines that I have never had, she said I had whiplash. She gave me meds and sent me to pt. after two sections I had to quit due to my whole body hurting. After many tests I was diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia. I continued to work my 80 hour weeks plus all the other running I had to do. I have two boys who are now. 14 and 10, but Ty my Bo s have problems along with my father and grandmother so they were mentally and physically draining. Plus I worked with the mentally and physically handicapped.

April 13,2012 I quit my job cause the pain and fog was way to much. My father passed away four days later and it has been downhill since.

I have had three major surgeries in the last year. It seems like every time I have a surgery something else starts hurting. Anyone else?

I was also wondering if anyone had insigt into SSDI. I am waiting for my appeal hearing and that is a lot of added stress. Any advice would.be great.

Have you checked out "Fibro 101," our 1st thread? It has lots of links that can be very helpful when dealing with Fibro.

I need to check into SSDI too. One of these days....

I once had to quit PT because of overwhelming pain, too. We have to be treated very slowly and carefully compared to the average person. Another time it was helpful, but even then, there was only so far I could push myself without making things worse. Sometimes it's a very fine line.

I, too, had car accidents. I was rear ended many years ago, had a front collision and in August we had a car accident. Many times Arthritis shows its face years after an accident or fall.

I, too, had a hectic lifestyle. Drive to work was an hour or so and transit a bit more, 9 to 5 job mostly data entry but heaving lifting of boxes of records. I used to drive up to help out a Family member on my lunch until they were in a Nursing Home. Then I helped at the Nursing Home as the Family member would not eat for the nurses. Go home, make supper, dishes, ironing etc. Weekends, clean the house and do laundry and go to the Nursing Home. Somewhere in between a social life came in.

You might have to give up some things. Maybe with the boys getting bigger, get them to help with some things.

I don't know about everyone else but I was always feeling like I could do it all. Did I rest enough - no.
My Husband is helping now.

I have had many infections and am sick again. It is so hard to be sick on top of all the other problems. I have headaches everyday and there may be whiplash from the recent accident. My virus is causing so much head pain - sinuses.

I am not in the U.S. but yes, I needed a Lawyer to get disability. Government or Insurance forms are best filled out by knowledgeable Doctors.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry about your loss of your father. It sounds like your life is very full. It doesn't help to have lupus and fibro in all of this. The best thing is you found this forum! It can really help you learn how to manage your fibro better. I have learned more here then from my dr's ever shared with me. I hope you can receive the same.

Educating yourself with good books on fibro are very helpful. It relieved lots of anxiety for me. I finally figured why I was going through these crazy symptoms fibro created. Visiting the forum and asking questions will help you. I learned so much here that I created my own fibro treatment plan. It's a trial and error method, but it works.

I am on social security and I didn't need a lawyer. I did suffer from chronic depression for over 20 years, so I believed it help me. I would say just get involved in your case. Know who your case worker is. Call the and ask if they received all your Dr. notes. If not call the dr's office and push it through faster. This is what I had to do. They don't tell you they are missing important Dr. notes. They will decide on just what they have. Good luck on it! Don't give up on it !

Fibromyalgia has just been added to acceptable illness with SSD, but it must be severe level.
