jrjenn5: Yes, I think I know what you mean. I have to really watch myself when I'm feeling fairly well because I tend to then overdo it and have to pay for it later.
I'm also one who has to be in bed by 9 PM--not 9:30 or even 9:15, because those few minutes, I've found, make a difference. Sometimes, I even need to lie back down for about 10 minutes, an hour or so after getting up, though I'm an early riser (5:15 AM). As Karen says, having a sleep routine is important.
One thing I've been noticing since taking more care for sleep is that occasionally I'll get that second wind (though not a strong one!) later in the day. I think we really have to pamper our fibro bodies at times, and having a regular routine seems to be key.
