Newbie - need serious help and advice, he just doesn't believe me :-(

Welcome to the forum. Just wanted to say hi because it looks like you are relatively new.

Being in an unsupportive relationship can be so difficult. You end up feeling guilty for having needs and not to mention other people not believing you are sick.

I feel very fortunate to have an understanding husband who likes to take care of me. Though I do as much as I can for myself. I don't want to depend on somebody else to make me happy and feel well.

Ksiler, yes - Fibro has definitely changed me. I feel the way you do, always wanting to do more than I can, so never being "caught up" in my life, and feeling old before my time. I wouldn't have chosen this particular journey, but since I'm stuck with it, I've tried to make the best of it...as Karen said, it teaches you compassion. We also grow in patience (I still have a ways to go on that part ;)

Yes, you can have Arthritis along with Fibro - I do, a lot of us do.

I'm glad you have an appointment with a different doctor. Whew, that one you had sounds like quite the piece of work! Be sure to write down all your questions before you go. And let us know what happens...remember, we're here for you!

Thank you all for the support, I start put on Tuesday with a fibro specialist...thank goodness and he said it would be good to bring the boyfriend along so he can truly understand how this can affect someone's life hoping that helps. The new pain management doctor was a flop, told me I had no reason to be in pain and that he didn't really believe in fibromyalgia. .If there is a bad doctor out there I am bound to end up seeing them, it seems..lol
I am looking forward to the physical therapy though, sounds promising. I will keep u all posted. Thank you again for the replys and encouragement. .it really does help to know your not alone, and the someone else knows exactly what your trying to say or how you feel.
Keeping my fingers crossed a I can find a new dr soon, oh and the new rheumatologist appointment isn't until June! That's how far back they are booked but I think he's known as the best in his fielfield so hopefully it will be worth the wait! Again than you all greatly! I really appreciate it.

I'm so sorry and new to this but I don't know what DO's are? I am looking forward to the physical therapy on tuesday, maybe that was the reason I had to see this idiot doctor, it's like I try and talk and tell them what's going on and I'm cut off and TO what's going on, they just don't listen. Hopefully I will find one soon because I've tried everything I can think of for pain relief and have pretty much cried myself to sleep every night from the pain. I just feel like there's no end in sight, that I'm chasing the rabbit down a never ending hole..I will keep yall posted though if anything changes. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and seen healing vibes my way, I could really use them. :-(

Hi. Know what You're talking about. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the 1980's and had long before that. I'm 65 now. I am also a former nurse. Pain isn't fun. And not having someone believe and support you is tough. A year ago Aug. I was in so much pain I was ready to go to emerg. I got on the Internet and found Doctor Peter Osbourne. And Doctor Taunenbaum., who has fibromyalgia. What a change in my whole life since I started following Doctor Osbourne, the gluten free warrior. I found out that gluten is the direct cause of 209+ diseases! Guess what! Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are two. Parkinson's,Huntington's, Migraines,bells Palsy, thyroiditis and adrenal fatigue and even diabetes, are all autoimmune diseases caused by gluten. I was shocked. And in so much pain I decided to give gluten free a try for a month. No wheat, oats, barley, rye, corn, soy, . WIth in the month Icould stop the cane, talk!, see things clearly and no brain fog.! Previously I had to plan my day around rests, only went out where there was a cart and basically for years was house bound. Christmas last year, the kids came down and they noticed the change too. I looked and felt better. I am now out and about meeting people. My hubby had bought a new home with no stairs as I'd fall getting in and out. What a change. I'm planning a big party for June right now, something a year ago was not possible.

You have several things going on. One also sounds like sciatica. Sit on the side of your tub. Lift one leg and put you ankle on you opposite knee. Bend over and count to 10. Repeat with the other leg. Try for 10 on each leg. It's painful as you are stretching the muscle and sciatic nerve. Keep trying. Within 24 hrs you'll feel a lot better. I've told many people about this as a physiotherapist told me about it, and it works.

Migraines I've had as long. I find Excedrin Migraine works best for me. But after taking daily I got fed up with that. I found a chiropractor that specializes in head and neck problems. There's are only 6 colleges in the U.S. that specialize in this area. Turned out the top two bones, the axis and atlas, where out of place from my falls. After 6 months of treatment, not by "cracking" my neck. That's scary and you could have a stroke if not done correctly. He uses a small machine behind my ear. The muscles had been out of alignment for years. I am now in alignment and no headaches for 3 months now. And there been a lot of stress as hubby had a stroke and surgery recently. And I'm fine.

I also have added an adrenal help pill to my regime. I take two a day. What a difference.

I get it from, don't laugh, Lucky Vitamins! It's by Energizer Labs. Doctor Taunenbaum recommended it. Also he has a drink I take that has ALL the vitamins and minerals you need. I also find their sleep med with adrenal support made a big difference. I was shocked to learn fibromyalgia is a precursor to Alzheimer's and or dementia. I've just been diagnosed with this! I've had fibromyalgia since I was 25 yrs old and no one knew what it was.
