Hi Teslagirl, and welcome! You have gotten some good advice! Also, you can massage those trigger points and have the pain get better instead of using medication and patches. This is what I do. The pain stays away much longer this way. I bought The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook on Amazon and it shows where to look for the trigger points that are causing the pain. When my side hurt, the trigger points were in my back. I massaged them and the pain calmed down and was gone in a few hours. I also used this technique to cure my frozen shoulder. Might be something you all would be interested in.
I use ibuprofen, Tylenol, magnesium malate, vitamin D3, and a muscle relaxer called Robaxin to help with my pain and fatigue. I also walk daily as a form of gentle exercise, do stretching exercises, and I pace myself when doing things. All of these things have helped me live a full and enjoyable life in spite of fibro.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. There are links about the supplements I mentioned above and how they work in the body. These have helped quite a few members, by the way.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
