For a variety of reasons, my last few weeks have been difficult. With inspiration from something I just read from Michael, I wondered if everyone would be willing to share something positive to help remind us all that there are good things too. There are so many things that can be depressing and overwhelming, but I am finding the little things lately give me the most positive reinforcement.
My two things to share:
1. My most positive thing to share are the days when I get out of the shower and I'm able to step out under my own steam. I don't hurt, I'm not foggy, I'm not dizzy and it feels good to stand out there, on the bathmat after a great shower and have a moment where there is no pain, no frustration, and I feel positive about what I might be able to accomplish today. It's moments like these that make me feel like I can take control of this and move forward with my life.
2. New Year's resolution: to remember at all times that my attitude for the day in the feelings people have about working with me start with me. I can choose to be upbeat, laugh at what goes on instead of cry and use what I'm learning to be understanding and helpful to others.
