Trigger Point Injections???

Will be interested in answers, my dr said he does them.. But that patients do not think they work.

I think others here might get them tho

I get nerve blocks in my head by my Headache Doctor. I go every 4 weeks. I am on medication for other conditions. My Doctor has been very frank, the blocks do not rid of all the pain but help to bring it down. He does not do blocks below the shoulder area but he does put some into my shoulders. I am in Canada.

I did not know that I was doing better until we had a car accident in the summer. I feel like a thousand steps back and I am starting all over. I have headaches every day - any head pain is a headache. I have just had 3 days of terrible headaches and my blood pressure was up. It has come down this morning. I am guessing, it may have something to do with my efforts, starting this week, to weigh and measure my food and cut out sugar. I was able to do 15 minutes on my stationary bike yesterday and today. I can't go fast and need to rest after. I am up and keep moving.

The Physiotherapist who referred me in the beginning to my Headache Doctor said after the first few shots that I have to try to keep moving as the pain has come down some. I did what I was supposed to do but I did want to feel more from the procedure. I felt like saying "that's it" but I had to keep trying as there were no other options. We have many things happening in side of us.

I have had acupuncture done but it is not a fix in anyway. The premise of acupuncture is that pain is from a blockage of energy. The needles are placed in certain areas to attempt to correct the blockage. This is not a scientific explanation just from someone who has tried it.

I use ice, heat and pain creams.

Hope you find something that brings relief and allows you to function better.
