Pick-n-choose. I generally do lists, and break things up into do-able projects. Planning in advance helps, like asking SO to carry things up or down stairs.
Assign some tasks to others in the household. Really, they can do things, but choose not to.
Assign meals to others. You are responsible for Wednesday, you Tuesday, etc. Even younger children can be responsible for meals, think hot dogs, soup, sandwiches, etc. Or they set/clear/clean after.
Everyone becomes responsible for their own laundry. I started at 10.
Also, allow yourself to make choices about necessary and pleasant. Some things NEED to be done, and some things are just nice extras. Then, allow yourself to be okay with this. It is okay to have a dirty floor at times. The carpet remains unvacuumed for a week? So what? Everyone has their own tolerance, and button issues. For instance, my bathroom stays clean, and dusting happens fairly regularly.
Lastly, simplify food prep. MAke ahead and freeze. USe slow cooker. Shop at a price club, and create family-friendly portions on the weekends.
Planning is key.
