Do you have an update on your hemochromatosis, @mishell? I was diagnosed fibro September 2013 by my GP. Then May 2014 by my rheumatologist. I was having newer symptoms and sent to a neuro who said everything fine. Went to a new GP since I moved and he referred me to neuro thinking I may have MS because of my symptoms and one brain lesion everyone else was ignoring. The new neuro did blood test and my Ferritin level was high. 9-120 normal. Mine was 340. Neuro actually blew it off telling me all my blood work was fine. Iron test a little high but no big deal, she just checks everyone for that. I was thinking, then why do you check it. I got a copy of my lab work. I took the results to my GP. He said he was so glad I told him about this. Now, I am getting tested for hemochromatosis. The lab was closed after my appointment, so I'll be getting the lab work done Monday and waiting for my results. I wonder what kind of symptoms this causes besides the like 5 listed on the nih website? If it mimics fibro, it would have to have more symptoms than joint pain and fatigue, which are fibro symptoms. Going to be digging around on the internet today.
