Shoulder pain/ blade pins needles in hands

Does anyone else experience pain in shoulder and blade which runs down arms and gives you pins and needles in hands? Had a terrible day today had to stay off work never had both arms aching before just down right side normally......had heat pad on most of day it's driving me mad. Thanks in advance for any advice 😄

I think a lot of us with fibro, get the shoulder pain, i can get that both sides, but it is often the right shoulder blade and down into the rib area around the right side...

I use heat, acupressure mat , and definitely topical pain relievers

February has been brutal weather here , are you in a bad climate also? For me it makes the pains much worse.

I am in England it's been colder than normal. The headache when I first get up is really starting to wear me down too.....most days I can put up with pain just like a way of life but this past week or so no way . Thanks lj

I have been working on myofascial relese for this. I am lousy at explaining it, but if Sherrine is around, she can explain it more clearly. I got a device called a back-knobber. It is basically a firm piece of plastic that is curved in the shape of an "S". It has round balls on either end. You could hook this over your shoulder and use it to find spots that you couldn't reach yourself, like the one below your shoulder into the left that often relates to this. I use it to find the spot and then gently work on it with the end of the S curve. I find that if I do this every night before bed, I get very little pain in the morning. Or at least it's much lighter.

The other thing I have been using is some lidocaine patches that my doctor gave me. I cut them into small pieces and put them on my trigger points or any areas where the muscle feels painful. They are good for 12 hours and let me sleep tonight. In the morning I pull them off and I generally feel much better. The trick for me is remembering what to use each night. I only have trouble with it on days ending in "y". ;)

The other thing I might suggest is that I got a heating pad from Sunbeam that is in the shape of an E. It fits around my neck it has a tail that fits up the base of my neck and it gives a little more targeted heat for my neck and shoulder pain.

Shawa, I use trigger point therapy on myself and that does help a lot. I did cure my frozen shoulder using this technique! I couldn't raise my arm above my shoulder or put it behind my back. And reaching for something sent an "electrical" shock down my arms and caused me to gasp. But it is all gone now through massaging trigger points.

There is a wonderful book called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook and it can be found on Amazon. I bought this and it has diagrams showing you where the trigger points can be found for the pain you are feeling. I've used this for my shoulders, neck, and sides so far and it's worked every time. I just took care of a very stiff neck a few days ago by using this technique and massaging several times during the evening before I went to bed. I woke up the next morning with no stiff neck. Amazon will let you read a little of the book so you can decide if you want to buy it. It's only around $15 last time I checked.

I am seeing my Headache and Pain Relief Doctor today. I will have a massage first with a Registered Massage Therapist. I have had a couple weeks of dreadful pain in my left arm and the two fingers beside the baby are partially numb. The shoulders and shoulder blade are full of pain. I have tried to massage them but it has not helped. This if the first time I have had so much pain in my arm. I can't touch it. I have tried many pain creams. I use heat and ice. I have tried gentle pressure around the base of my skull but don't find it helping.

For me I do have Osteoarthritis in my neck, neck to collarbone and collarbone to shoulder blade. How much is Fibromyalgia, I don't know. I, too, had a frozen shoulder that I managed to overcome but it took me a year. I do some stretches in the shower and keep doing the ones that helped overcome the frozen shoulder.

Thank you all very much for taking the time to speak to me I will have a look for book on Amazon sherrine. It is good to know that I am not alone in all of this. And other people experience the pain like I do and it's not all in my head thanks again.
