Hello Folks
I am new to this forum (I am almost certain). I am going through the worst flare I can recall. I thought it was shingles, but it's not. My skin in burning- mostly my back, but my arms and legs are also affected. I'm having so much anxiety about my life and coming out of denial about what this all means. All of that anxiety is making it hard to get relief. Fibromyalgia is something I rarely talk about, but now I must. I have always been an energetic high spirited highly functional person- even when I was in pain, but this is a new day.
I need to talk to my adult son about it soon and that's a conversation I dread. He knows I have it, but I have mostly hidden my bad days. I look forward to just being in a place, even on a screen with people who know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Hi, and welcome! I started this thread for you because the thread you posted on asked that you not post on it. LOL. I have that thread in Fibro 101 so you can read it there.

Speaking of Fibro 101, it's the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links would be Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there. All of Fibro 101 is good so do read it.

If you haven't been diagnosed I suggest that you see a board certified rheumatologist that treats fibro patients. You need to ask since there still are some doctors in the Dark Ages when it come to this illness. There are other illnesses that have many of the same symptoms as fibro and you need to get these ruled out first because they have different treatments than fibro...illnesses like Lyme disease and lupus.

You have found a good place. We have wonderful members who love to help one another and, as a bonus, we really do care about each other, too. I think you will like it here.

Hi, and welcome...

Its a great forum and people really do understand where you are coming from.

Our symptoms can vary one day to the next . I am flaring this week also...

My own flares seems to stir up with the weather changes.

Fibro 101 is great and ask questions as you like, there s always members around to try and answer.

This is a great forum. Everyone cares and we all share info so if someone finds something that really works, or doesn't ,we all can try or not.

I'm sorry you're in a flare. I totally understand what you mean by wanting to talk to someone who understands, and we do!!!

I hope you feel better soon and keep posting so we all can get to know you!!

Hi clevername and welcome.

The Burning stinging skin. (Sunburnt) feeling can be quite scary. I noticed you mentioned anxiety as well. Burning skin is a major symptom of anxiety. I also had anxiety and burning skin. Are you taking anything to help anxiety.?

Fibro and anxiety go hand and hand. If you can get one under control the other will be much better. Please tell us more about yourself. We're here to help.

Hi and welcome!

Sorry to read that you are having a bad flare of pain. It is something unwanted but we do have in common.

I don't talk about my pain much either, unless someone specifically asks. I won't say I am OK if I'm not. Friends close to me know I am in pain but none have Fibromyalgia. Many Family members have Arthritis and understand pain.

I hope you can work with your Doctors to find a way to cope better.
