I myself do not have fibro, but my sister and grandmother do. My sister was only 13 when she got fibro and she is now 15 and has arthritis to.
So I try to help her as much as I can because I am aware of how painful it is, and it is sad to see her have a collection of pain medications by her bed and she is soo young.
But my grandmother one year came down to visit and left her a peppermint cream and my sister used it only when she needed to because it was such a small bottle and helped with her pain. Then she ran out and I was like "there! That is what I can do, I will make that!"
It is really really easy to make! And if it doesn't work for you it is still really good for your skin and smells awesome.
You will need:
-an empty bottle or container (I use one of her empty pill bottles)
- peppermint oil
- somesort of moisterizer or cream for your skin.
What I have learned with the peppermint oil is that if it smells leafy and not like the candy it actually isn't as effective. I thought the more natural the better, but in this case follow your sweet tooth because my sister hated the leafy one.
The moisterizer can be anything, the more easier it absorbs into the skin the better.
At first I used ponds cold cream but now I use it with anything.
Directions:
My grandmother never gave me measurements but she said to keep mixing the oil in untill you can smell it. So it is really up to how much cream and what type of cream you use.
Then after putting it into a container massage it on the painful area (preferably before bed) to help calm the pain.
I hope that helps, note that I'm not sure it helps with everyone but it helps my grandmother and sister. It doesn't cost a lot and if it doesn't work as I said before it will just make your cream smell good not less effective as a lotion itself.
