Cognitive Memory Problems

First time on the site. My fybro fog has me almost debilitated. I'm fell as like i'm high or something. I forget things all the time. I have even gone to movies and don't remember going. I took pictures at a friends son's HS graduation and have no recollection of being there. I'm really scared. My children are so sweet about it. They tell me "Mom, we saw that movie already. It's ok". I'm ALWAYS exhausted. I have had this nasty disease now for more that 15 years and I feel I'm getting worse. I'm not taking ANYthing for my fybro and never have. I don't like taking meds.

I agree. I recently went through something similar. I don't want some of the things they would like to prescribe so I checked out supplements for cognitive issues. I am in the process of building back up from a flu week, but finally found a few supplements that help me with that.

The simplest ones seem to do the most. I added Vitamin D a while ago, along with Magnesium Maleate. The big up jump seemed to come from Vitamin C and D-Ribose.

I found that suggestion on a board that was discussing cognitive issues with kids who had had mono. My daughter was just getting over it and I was trying to help her and thought it couldn't hurt for me either. It's made a big difference. I still have occasional bad days, but for the bulk of them, I feel like I got more of my brain back.

It isn't perfect, but it does help.

Whatever you try, take care of yourself. I have a list of things to check when I am out of it. I pinned it next to my desk, because when I am, I can't think of remedies for pain, etc. The big number 1 is always ... can I do more about my sleep.

Last week, a friend reminded me as well, Moms tend to suffer from CRS (can't remember stuff) naturally. I don't know how old you are. I am 50. On top of our fun Fibro, etc, we get fun with our body getting older and certain bodily systems having fun with our brain naturally. With Fibro and other stuff in our system, we tend to forget there are "fun" natural reasons for some of these things too.
