Hi all...I read these threads and read many different boards but have never joined one. I think I need this because no one close to me really understands what I go through. I think my husband thinks I'm insane sometimes.
.
Last summer I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondilitis, Fibro, etc. I had had some back issues for years and was told after an MRI about
8 years ago that I had some arthritis in my neck and spine but they brushed it off. I ended up with Pneumonia last June and had gone through a lot of stress in the 5 or so years prior to that but seriously at the end of May a lot of that stress was relieved when my hubby found a job that was comparable to the one he had lost a couple years prior and things were all looking up.
I felt so much relief and then bam! Pneumonia and then bam! my body felt like I was hit by a truck and it wouldn't go away. Finally got into a Rheumatologist a month and a half later and after many visits diagnosed me with all of the above. It started in my hands and wrists and now the majority of my pain is in my lower back and hips but it moves around.....constantly. I live in Wisconsin so the cold of winter was rough. But I am now struggling with this high heat and humidity.
I started on Enbrel after he tried many other meds that wouldn't work and after a couple of months that was working great! I even went snowmobiling! Then my insurance company decided that they won't accept the Enbrel assist program and I had to change to Humira. It is not helping at all. And now my hubby lost his job again and we have really crappy insurance. So not sure what I'm going to do.
I was looking up rashes and fibro today because I have been have major issues with hot, bumpy itchy rashes that break out mostly on my arms, legs and back and most of the time it's at night but it will randomly pop up during the day too. My Rheum doc said a few weeks ago it could be from any one of the issues I have or meds. I just needed to know if anyone else out there has that issue also.
Anyone out there that has any tips on how to deal with any of the above...I would be glad to listen! I turn 49 this Saturday and have since I had kids been overweight but have always been active and could always do pretty much anything. I was always very strong both mentally and physically and that is now withering away.
My kids are ranging from 17-21 and I have always looked forward to being the fun, cool grandma and I don't see that happening. Has anyone found success with cutting out gluten and sugars, etc??
Sorry so long-winded....just need someone to talk to that knows what I'm going through.
Thank you....
I gave you paragraphs.
