Hi CathyA,
First of all sorry to hear you're going through all of this. It is tough and it's wonderful when we can find ways to help ourselves and each other.
What captured my interest was your saying that you had increased pain when you were fertilizing. Fibromites tend to be sensitive. I was wondering if you might be sensitive to chemicals? Being a nurse, you probably already know that the condition is called multiple chemical sensitivity.
A few evenings ago I was outdoors taking one of my short walks and halfway through I became very weak and a bad headache all at once came on. I was considering stopping my walk halfway through. I sniffed the air and sure enough it smelled like our neighborhood asphalt plant was running. I try to avoid being outside of my complex when it's running. It usually only happens in the early morning. Because of this I had increased pain for a few days…
I have pretty much stopped relying on tests that show me to be normal and on medications that do me no good and only cause side effects. I only consider seeing a doctor for an annual check up or if some new symptom shows up that I should have checked out.
Concerning the anxiety issue, I find the more pain I'm in the more anxious I feel. Yesterday I had an appointment with my cranial sacral massage therapist. It helped a lot. It even helps my anxiety level.
How well I know if I don't take care of myself in every way it just comes back.
Good luck to you.
