Hi and welcome, 33bella! Wow--that accident must have been terrible. I hope you continue to mend well.
I had a really bad time falling asleep this past Spring and Summer. Things are better now, but the only thing I actually changed was that I tried to get more steps/activity in my day. Easier said than done, as no one wants to overdo it.
What helps me is to alternate sitting and standing (or walking activity) throughout the day. For example, this morning I was spot-cleaning my living room carpet. It was tiring, as I had to be down on the floor, scrubbing away at a couple of stains. I then put in some laundry, then did some paperwork on my couch, which gave me a bit of a second wind.
Some days are tougher than others. I think there are days we can get away with lots of physical activity (though watching so it's not too much), and others when the day seems designed for us to be mostly sitting. Such is the weird world of fibro! I tend to get stiff if I sit or lie very long, and that's another consideration.
In general, I think raising my activity level has helped me feel a little better, and I'm able to do more, and sleep better. I only hope it continues!
This is a great, friendly forum. If you have questions, just ask. Have a great day!
